Cambodia is a country in south east Asia, bordering Thailand to the west, Loas to the north and Vietnam to the east. The official language is Khmer, however French and English are widely spoken, especially in the capital Phnom Phen.
Due to massive devaluation of the local currency the Cambodia riel, the US dollar has become widely accepted throughout the country and it is advisable to bring some dollars with you when you visit. Local ATM’s also dispense US dollars, but can be unreliable.
Considering Cambodia has only recently recovered from a massive civil war and genocide, it’s local economy is doing very well and tourism has become it’s second-biggest source of income.
